Nancy K. Fredericks

Irondequoit - Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at the age of 82. Predeceased by her parents, Theodore and Beatrice Kenyon and sister, Joyce Fink. Nancy is survived by her children, Heather (Ed) Kelly, Tracy (CJ Mitchell), Holli (James) Englerth; grandchildren, Seamus, Deirdre, Declan Kelly, Mackenzie, Madison Tobrocke, Noah, Keenan Englerth; siblings, Ted (Joan) Kenyon, Carol (Dennis) Staba; brother-in-law, Jerry Fink and several nieces and nephews.

Nancy Fredericks grew up in lovely Walton, NY, graduated from Delaware Academy and went off to SUNY Oneonta. Nancy wound up graduating from Hartwick College and soon moved to the Rochester area, living briefly in Penfield, Ann Arbor, Michigan, and then becoming a long time resident of Irondequoit, NY. A devoted Catholic, Nancy worked for the Diocese of Rochester for many years at both St. Salome and St. Margaret Mary parishes. Nancy loved her family and spent many hours covering her home with photos of her three girls and her seven grandchildren. She loved to dote on her grandkids, hosting an annual New Year’s Eve sleepover for all the kids each year which remains shrouded in secrecy to this day. Nancy loved to garden, enjoyed her pets, grand pets and will be fondly remembered for saying, “Today, I’m just hanging out.”

Nancy truly lived her life seeking to be Christ-like in her words and deeds. Her default emotions and actions were always based in love, kindness, empathy and humility. Nancy had a special way of patiently embracing whatever was going on in her life or the lives of friends and helping all involved to understand that everything was going to be just fine. Nancy was a true teacher and those of us who spent time with her are grateful for her lessons. We will all miss Nancy terribly, but understand that her example and influence will be part of us forever.
