DePalma, Sr., Richard S. "Dick The Hair"

Irondequoit: Friday, August 13, 2021 at age 88. Predeceased by his son, Richard, Jr. on the same day due to Covid, brother Robert, parents Salvatore and Mayme DePalma, many aunts, uncles, and cousins Dennis and Michael DePalma. Also predeceased by our beloved Nana: Romilda Monacelli DePalma Cardone. Dick is survived by his SO Sherry, nephews Salvatore DePalma, Robert DePalma, niece Luann DePalma Romeo and families. Also survived by cousins Lawrence DePalma (Kathy) and Wendy DePalma Riesenberger (Bill) and families.

Dick was a veteran of the Marines and Coast Guard and served aboard ship during the Korean War. Dick retired from the Rochester Police Department after 20 years of service, and then moved to Las Vegas with his brother Bobby. They spent many happy years there. Dick loved animals, especially orange cats and leaves behind "Rusty", his beloved pet. Dick returned to Rochester to live the last three years of his life with his son, Richard S. DePalma Jr. who was devoted to caring for his Dad. Dick and Richard Jr. lived together on earth, relied on each other daily and left to be together eternally the same day.

Friends are invited to meet the family Monday, September 20, 1:00 pm at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery for his Graveside service. Memorials may be directed to Humane Society at Lollypop Farm, 99 Victor Rd., Fairport, NY 14450.
