My thoughts and prayers go out to the Dovidio Family. Although I did not have the honor of working with A/Chief Dovidio I often heard of his legacy at the Irondequoit Police Department. My coworkers spoke of his progressive leadership and the initiatives he implemented. He was a highly respected police officer that served Irondequoit with honor and distinction. Over the years I had the pleasure of meeting Chief Dovidio and his family. They were very welcoming and happy to see how the IPD has evolved over the years. Although he is no longer physically with us, Chief Dovidio has now been called from a higher authority to serve as one of our Guardian Angels. God Bless and Rest in Peace. Richard V. Frank, the last time we saw each other we had a good laugh about the way the job was “in the old days. You were both friend and mentor and for that I’m grateful. I will pray that God grants you the peace that you have earned and that you deserve and I’ll pray too that Roz and your beautiful family also find peace knowing that you’re now in His arms. Roz, Lynn, Lisa and Frank, so sorry to hear of "Big Franks" passing!!! I always enjoyed spending time with Frank, watching the town hall fireworks from your yard or have a beer and listening to old stories form his days with IPD. He was a true gentleman!! Unfortunately I am out of town on Thursday so I will not be able to attend the service but I will be thinking of "Big Frank". I hope we can get together soon to share some Frank stories!!!
