With great sadness and sympathy we had to hear about the passing of our dear aunt Marlis. We will always have fond memories of her, also of her constant efforts to keep the connection to the U.S.A. alive. Her numerous, often quite surprising visits here in "Good Old Germany" were legendary and led already in my childhood and youth also again and again to meetings of the relatives, whether in Cologne, Munich, Mesmerode or Wunstorf. I particularly remember her visit, together with her still young daughter Diane, to us in Munich in the early 1980s and her surprise visit to her sister Ursula, my mother, in Cologne for her eightieth birthday.
Dear Aunt Marlis, you are now in a better world and perhaps we will see each other again sometime!
