I fondly remember Sandy as "grace under fire" as the face of the Main Office at Irondequoit High School. She was always so kind and helpful, making both new and seasoned staff members' lives just a little easier through responding as if no question was a stupid one and trying to find solutions to all of the little problems that arose on a regular basis. I like to think that Sandy has an even more important job now, welcoming others into another space.

I was so sorry to hear of Sandy’s passing. She was always so positive and ready to help me in any way. I remember the early morning calls when she would ask me if I could sub. And then we would have wonderful conversations about our kids.
She was a bright light at IHS.
My condolences to the family.

During my years at IHS, Sandy and I were pretty close friends. For awhile, she, Nanci McBride and I met once a month for dinner, to enjoy each others' company, complain about the "management' and share "school" adventure stories! I loved those evenings. Over the years we began to share child rearing stories and personal issues. She never let me forget the incident when I with my usual sleeplessness, accidentally took my dog's phenobarbitol pill and had to spend the entire day in bed. Forever thereafter, Sandy greeted me in the morning with the appropriate "arf, arf"l I love you lady. See you in the next semester of our lives.

Sandy greeted students, staff and visitors to the IHS Main Office with a smile and a willingness to help. No matter how busy and hectic her day was going, she was always friendly and helpful - if you had a question about anything, Sandy's desk was always your first stop. She and I were often the first at school in the morning, and I always appreciated being greeted with her positive attitude. Sincere condolences to her family.

During our childhood, Sandy was one of my girl friends. I lived on Barons Road, and Sandy lived on Hollywood Crescent. I was envious of her beauty: she had the most gorgeous honey blonde hair that she often wore in two long braids. In the summer, Sandy would tan; I would burn. Often we ran like wild things through the neighborhood. We played "horses", and we climbed trees. We ganged up on the boys except when we needed each other to play games. We went to different schools and eventually grew apart. I moved out of Rochester entirely, while Sandy moved to the old neighborhood. She very kindly looked after my mother when Mom started to lose her strength. I recall the last time I saw Sandy, I told her of Mom's diagnosis of terminal cancer. Indeed, Mom could not return to Barons Road to live after the surgery that confirmed her cancer. Sandy was sad about the impending loss of her neighbor. I extend condolescences to Sandy's family and her friends. May perpetural light shine upon her.

I was one of the many teachers at Irondequoit High School who had occasions to interact with Sandy. She was always glad to help in any way she could and always with a smile. Her kind and lovely manner is one of the many good memories of the high school, even 13 years after my retirement. I can see how everyone who knew her and enjoyed her company will miss her.
My sincere condolences to Sandy's family and friends. People like Sandy are much too rare....
With sadness and warm remembrance,
