I didn't know Lance very well. He was my nephew and the few times I did interact with him he seemed very kind and genteel. Unfortunately, like too many others today, it seems he fought demons that wouldn't go away. I know those who loved him tried so hard to help him and I hope each of those persons can rest their soul knowing they did help him. Sometimes, despite our best efforts, the demons win. Kim, Drew, and all others who loved, cared for, and tried to help Lance - your efforts were never in vain.
Although Lance's time on this earth was too short, I am sure he was thankful for the love he received by those who gave it. As a Christian, I know the Lord Jesus loves us all. However, that doesn't mean life won't bring valleys - sometimes deep ones. I have prayed and will continue to pray that those close to Lance will walk through this valley you now find yourselves in, with the peace that only the Lord can bring.

The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
