Rita, you passed away in between my Godmother and Dad, I never really got the chance to say goodby to you. You were the best second mom, and I will always remember your's and Ron's kindness and generosity with your time, and your love. I learned many lessons from you both, but really, the best thing I learned from you was just how to be a better person, Rita. Something that's hard to put into words but is nonetheless, lived out every day...I know God has a special place for you, and has welcomed you home. However, your smile and laughter will never leave this world, until everyone who knew you is gone from here. Blessings, John

My sincerest condolences to the family. My parents, Don and Shirley ReQua were life long friends. They traveled often with the Schiefen's from various cruises way back to Sparrow Lake. Rita was the first adult woman who took me out to lunch as a young teen to just talk. I will always remember the occasion and her genuine interest in the happenings in my young life. When I first met Rita, she had a smile that just radiated her face. She was a fun loving person to be around. I remember when she and my husband Willard would compare notes about their heart conditions and what medications they were taking. It was hilarious listening to them. The Lord blessed your family with a gem, named, Rita.

To the entire family, I didnt know Rita very long but I certainly enjoyed her sweet company and gentle heart. We spent a long weekend in the Adirondacks together and laughed and ate and told many stories. Rita you will be missed by many. You are now another bright angel watching over us all. Rita was a very dedicated Godmother. Although her life and my parents' took us in opposite directions when I was little, she always managed to drop off a small present for me at Christmas time. As I got older, and more mature, I tried my best to return the gesture and send her a annual Christmas card with updates on my life. The best wallets she would gift me were always the ones with Starbucks gift cards tucked away inside.
