Sarah's effortless kindness, excitement, friendship, love, and thoughtfulness, will always stay bright in my heart, and I am grateful for the moments spent with her, our conversations, and the friendship she had with my Father, Wayne.
Wayne had been a resident at MCH for many years. Quickly after his arrival, he and Sarah became close friends and it would be rare that I didn't find the two of them together when I'd stop in. Adapting to a long-term hospital stay is difficult, and can take a long time to get used to. Sarah, in her glowing and energetic way, offered something invaluable- friendship. And this friendship was contagious. So much so, that years after my father's passing, I could still count on an inspiring and warming conversation with Sarah every couple of weeks.
Whenever we'd talk, the first thing she would say is "Chad, you sound just like your father", before telling me how much he talked about us and how proud he was. And she would always close our call saying "Now Chad, you know what I'm going to ask- are you still playing guitar?" to which I'd always respond with "Sarah, you bet I am.".
And that is Sarah- someone, who at any moment, had an outstanding amount of love and energy, for the friends and family in her life.
I am infinitely grateful for the moments shared with Sarah, and the tenancy she will always have in my family's hearts. May her love and friendship now carry even further.
With love,
Chad and Kassandra Jason
