I extend my deepest sympathies to the Kralles family for the profound loss of a life taken too soon. The world has been deprived of a truly authentic soul. He was a very grounded person, someone you could rely on for honesty, something I deeply valued. His passion for life, family, and music left a lasting impression on me and all who knew him. He will be missed.

I originally met Steve when he joined Beckman Coulter and Danaher, previous to my joining the company. He was always a knowledgeable and conscientious leader in the North American commercial and Global Service organization. His contributions were both numerous and significant. On a personal note, I and many others greatly appreciated his maturity and youthful exuberance. I extend my warmest sympathies and heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew him.

Steve and I worked together at Beckman Coulter and we kept in touch since he left. Last time we talked was in February when I told him I was pregnant. I sent him messages and I was not getting answers when I just found out he had gone. I am so sad and for sure he will be missed. My heart is with his family now…

I worked with Steve and Diane at Kodak. They were two of my favorite people that would always make me laugh. As we went our separate ways in life I still can remember how Steve would make me feel; he could bring me back to the bright side of life. HUGS are all I can provide to Diane and family members at this time. It's hard to lose someone who lived life to the fullest wherever he went. Again, I am saddened by the news and hope everyone can remember him just the way he was - excited about life.

Diane,
I was shocked and saddened to hear that Steve has passed away. Steve was a good friend. I have a lot of fond memories of him. There were many hours spent in his basement listening to Grateful Dead with my brother, Rick, Brett, Mark L., Bill D., Tom K., Dave W., Ray D., and Ray W. - and the occasional visits from upstairs by Chris, Alex and John. We were all close, doing everything from going to watching concerts- including John's band Passenger- to jumping off the bay bridge. I remember how happy Steve was when he met, and later married you, Diane - the times visiting at your guys place in Village Gate. There were the times at Mark's cottage and times at Brett's with Christine. Steve was always at the center - he was funny and charismatic, a great athlete and artist. I was lucky to know him, and I am so very sorry that he's gone. My sincerest condolences to you and your boys, Sam and Ed. And to John, Chris and Alex.

Hi Diane,
So sorry to hear Steve passed away.
The site suggests sharing a memory, and there are many, but two stand out. Sometime after I left IE, I worked for Steve; it was one of my most enjoyable jobs. And then there was the time when a bunch of us were out on Martin/Fitz' boat.
Please pass my condolences on to Chris and Alex.

The friendship between Steve and my son Brett began in Kindergarten and lasted until his passing. I smile when thinking of the golden memories. The sleepovers outdoors, lighting bug repellants and anything else they could find; setting up bait in squirrel cages, then watching from inside like forest rangers and sprinting when the cage slammed shut; filling my laundry tubs with guppies they caught at Seneca Park, then rode home with full pails on their bicycle handlebars. I loved finding clever and artistic messages Steve had chalked on my kitchen blackboard.
They never lost touch.
He will be remembered for the special gift he left with so many.

Steve and his brother John helped me transition smoothly to my new surroundings back in 1972. To that I have always appreciated. He was just that kind of a person.

Steve was a founding member of the American MoonDogs and I will remember MoonDog Steve with love and comradery for the rest of my days. I believe the community of resale guitars just got a bit slower. :)
